Always a fantastic choice of craft beer and special cocktails. Food and drinks are prepared with love and kindness. If you pop in and have Zach tending bar, you are in for a treat. A very caring and considerate bartender, he will make your experience truly memorable and unique. Seating options vary throughout the establishment and fun games are to be had at hands reach. A variety of events are hosted weekly and you will not be disappointed at The Local Motive.

The Local Motive is by far the BEST bar in Sykesville. The staff is friendly, the owners are involved and helpful, the drinks are amazing and well balanced (I highly recommend the Purple Rain), and their soft pretzel is a must-have. If you live in the area, definitely treat yourself to a night out here!

Such a gem of a spot in lovely downtown Sykesville. Menu was interesting and varied (was hard to choose), food was absolutely delicious, atmosphere was cozy but well-lit, and service was friendly. We’re looking forward to making this a regular spot for us!

THIS WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE. Mark was the only person in here at the time and he did AMAZING. Customer service, food, drinks were speedy and delicious. The Figgy Piggy Melt was soooooo good, put the pickles on there to take it up an extra notch. Just a great experience, I’ll be back! Everyone should definitely visit. Be patient, enjoy the vibe, and you’ll have a great time.
